Central Council for Amateur Theatre

The Central Council for Amateur Theatre (CCAT) is a consortium of membership organisations.

OUR MISSION
To promote and represent individual and group participation in theatre activities throughout the British Isles

We live in a climate of rapid change, and amateur theatre needs to be in a position to respond to that change. Recent surveys show that there are more than 25,000 voluntary arts organisations in the UK including amateur drama and operatic groups who are represented within the overarching umbrella of CCAT.

Any organisation which is Nationally based and which represents a sector of amateur theatre is eligible to join CCAT and to play a full role in developing the role of the voluntary theatre sector both nationally and regionally.
